Elton John Is Working On A Musical Adaptation Of ‘The Devil Wears Prada’
Someone get Meryl on the phone.
A musical adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada is on its way to Broadway, with legendary singer-songwriter Elton John set to compose the songs.
The five time Grammy winner, whose previous Broadway credits include The Lion King and Billy Elliot the Musical, will work alongside writer Paul Rudnick and producer Kevin McCollum.
“Re-imagining The Devil Wears Prada for the musical theatre is super exciting,” said Sir Elton in a statement. “I’m a huge fan of both the book and the feature film, and a huge aficionado of the fashion world. I can’t wait to sink my musical teeth into this hunk of popular culture.”
At this point no casting decisions have been made, although whoever steps into Meryl Streep’s role is going to have mighty big shoes to fill. Maybe if we get a rumour going, she’ll reprise the part herself? You heard it here first folks!
