Some Genius Has Created ‘Bohemian WAPsody’, And It’s As Chaotic As You’d Expect
This shouldn't work, but it really, really does.
I know what you were probably thinking to yourself as you carefully clicked on this article: “it’s been weeks since ‘WAP’ first came out, how can there possibly be another amazing mash-up that I’ve got to hear?”
It’s a good question. In the weeks since the Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s hit first dropped, there have been literally dozens of excellent remixes of the tune. I’ve even been so bold as to open the last few articles about this trend by promising that surely, surely this craze is finally over. And time and time again, I’ve been proven wrong.
It turns out ‘WAP’ just has all the elements required to pay out like a slot machine, over and over. It’s funny. It’s catchy. It’s raunchy enough to piss off conservatives. And it works when combined with a variety of different styles and tones, from ’80s R&B to a Britney Spears classic.
But this remix? Sure, I’m not going to be so foolish as to tell you it will be the last great one. But I do feel certain that it’s the wildest version of the song that the internet has spat out so far. It’s Cardi B added to Freddie Mercury, and it’s insanely delightful.
The brainchild of YouTube music mash-up genius William Maranci, the song culminates in a meme-filled climax, spinning everything from Ben Shapiro’s “wet ass p-word” speech to Cardi B’s “coronavirus” meme, into the proceedings.
It’s a work of art, and you should treat yourself to it:
