Yesterday, I wrote that it seemed like we were finally done with the ‘WAP’ cover phenomenon, thanks to a hilariously awful version of the Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion hit released by Biffy Clyro. But it looks like I spoke too soon, because the entire internet is currently vibing a brand new version of the tune.

Yep, seems like we will never quite be free of ‘WAP’. And who would want to be? The song is one of the true pop masterpieces of the year, a testament to sensuality and sexuality that goes harder than anything that’s hit radio for some time.

Excitingly, this new version of the song completely transforms it. Rather than leaning into the hip hop stylings of the original, the cover instead reimagines the song as an R’nB delight, one with a mood and tempo wholly of its own.

Basically, it demands your ears. Just listen to it, and tell me that it’s not totally subsumed you.

Musician Jay Diggs is the one responsible for the mini-masterpiece. He’s even released a full version, which you can listen to here, just to immediately transform and uplift your entire day:
