Lake Mungo (2008)

Another local horror, but I swear it’s a good one. Lake Mungo is truly one of the best horror movies of the last ten years and is filmed like a documentary following a family who start to experience paranormal activity in their home after the death of their 16-year-old daughter outside Ararat. It keeps you guessing right until the very end (literally, the credits reveal even more of the story) and is one of the few films to use “found footage” the right way.

Directed by Joel Anderson
Starring Rosie Traynor, David Pledger, Martin Shape and Talia Zucker
