The Eight Best Underground Horror Movies To Scare The Crap Put Of You This Halloween

horror

Halloween! Even if you’re not the type to go trick-or-treating, get dressed up in costumes and doused in fake blood before worshipping a demon, or devouring everything pumpkin spice-flavoured, then at least you can watch horror movies. The month of October is basically one big excuse to watch scary movies and not feel bad about it. Want to watch a slasher movie in the middle of the day? “It’s October!” Feel like finally getting around to binge-watching last year’s American Horror Story in a single day? “It’s Halloween, silly!”

If you’re like me, then the days leading up to All Hallows’ Eve is full of scary movie marathons from the comfort of your protective couch. However, if you’re in the mood for some movies a little bit off the beaten track, avoid Friday the 13th (1980), Scream (1996), A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), and, yes, Halloween (1978) and seek out these left-of-centre spooky tales.

Junkee’s throwing a spookxcellent (spooky/excellent) Halloween movie night at Golden Age Cinemas on Wednesday October 29, complete with Halloween-themed Theatresports starring Bridie-bola Connell, Patrick McGhoul and James Colley (ghost). You’re invited, we guess. Click here to buy tickets.
