Taylor Swift Used The First Night Of Her ‘Reputation’ Tour To Throw Shade At Kim Kardashian
This beef definitely isn't over.
She may have finally buried the hatchet with long-standing nemesis Katy Perry, but evidently Taylor Swift is not ready to let go of all of her grudges.
Last night, during the first show of her Reputation world tour, Swift very unsubtly dragged Kim Kardashian over that all-important Snapchat incident that threatened to derail her career back in 2016.
If you’re not across this particular Swift beef, here’s a primer: in February 2016, Kanye West released his single ‘Famous’, which contained the line “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/I made that bitch famous.”
He copped a lot of backlash for the lyric, and Swift herself appeared to call him out in her Grammy speech for Album of the Year — essentially accusing him of taking credit for her success. This was all well and good, until Kim Kardashian revealed to GQ that not only did Taylor know about the line prior to the track’s release.. .she actually loved it.
“It was funny because [Taylor] said, ‘When I get on the Grammy red carpet, all the media is going to think that I’m so against this, and I’ll just laugh and say, ‘The joke’s on you, guys. I was in on it the whole time’,” Kim told GQ. “And I’m like, wait, but [in] your Grammy speech, you completely dissed my husband just to play the victim again.”
And then to cap it all off, Kardashian posted a video of the phone call between her, Kanye, and Taylor — in which Taylor did indeed give permission for the lyric in ‘Famous’. To make matters worse for Taylor, her subsequent response on Twitter appeared to have been prepared months before — indicating she was well aware she was toeing a dangerous line by calling Kanye out.
Kim then fired off this now legendary tweet.
Wait it’s legit National Snake Day?!?!?They have holidays for everybody, I mean everything these days! ?????????????????????????????????????

Fast forward two years, and the snake is now a central figure of the Dark Taylor era that we’re now living in — the video for single ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ contained over 150 of the damn things. It’s also a big part of her Reputation tour setup… and by big we mean she has a fucking huge cobra statue on stage:

She also had a snake shaped microphone custom-made for her tour, to really hammer the point home. So with all of this imagery on stage, it was inevitable that Swift would address the drama that sparked the snake label in the first place:
“A couple of years ago, someone called me a snake on social media and it caught on,” she told the crowd midway through her performance last night. “And then a lot of people called me a lot of things on social media. And I went through some really low times for a while because of it. I went through some times when I didn’t know if I was gonna get to do this anymore.
“And I guess the snakes, I wanted to send a message to you guys that if someone uses name-calling to bully you on social media and even if a lot of people jump on board with it, that doesn’t have to defeat you. It can strengthen you instead.”
She went on to say the incident taught her not to care so much about being “misunderstood”, and she thanked her fans for “seeing me as a human being”.

OMG!! My #TaylorSwift is inspiring all of us with her speech about her transformation to snake and how it had taught us a lesson that we must not be defeated if someone try to defeat us.

Kim and Kanye, the ball is now back in your court.
