The cast and crew of iconic sitcom Scrubs have banded together to help cover the medical bills for Sam Lloyd, aka Ted the lawyer, after the actor was diagnosed with inoperable cancer last month.

According to a GoFundMe page set up to pay for Lloyd’s treatment, the veteran actor, whose wife Vanessa recently gave birth to the couple’s first child, began experiencing headaches in January. A CT scan revealed a mass in his brain, while further scans also found cancer in his lungs, liver, spine and jaw.

“Sam is, simply put, a sweet, kind, and generous soul,” reads the GoFundMe page. “Through his music and acting, and most of all his friendship, he has blessed all of our lives immeasurably.”

The campaign has since been shared by a number of Lloyd’s old colleagues from his Scrubs days, including series creator Bill Lawrence, stars Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke and Robert Maschio, and regular guest Kate Micucci, who played Ted’s girlfriend The Gooch.

The campaign has already raised more than US$95,000 in just one day. If you want to contribute, you can do so here.
