Watch Polish Club Turn Doja Cat’s ‘Say So’ Into A Sad Heartbreaker On Like A Version
No one has ever sung "ass and titties" that tenderly.
Sydney guitar slingers Polish Club stepped up for Like A Version this morning, taking on one of the biggest tracks of the last year: Doja Cat’s ‘Say So’.
‘Say So’, a cut from Doja Cat’s 2019 album Hot Pink, shot up the charts at the beginning of the year thanks to its massive popularity on TikTok — in the official video, Doja Cat even drops in the dance that made it famous on the app. The remix version, which featured Nicki Minaj no less, hit #1 on the Billboard charts.
It’s a bold choice for the Sydney band, but they pulled it off — peeling away the sugary pop elements of the original and turning it into a crunchy, distorted, rock ripper. Dave Novak’s vocals, in particular, are excellent, and the way he spits out “grab my ass” deserves to be bottled and put on display.
They also tore through their track ‘Breakapart’, from their 2019 album Iguana. Judging by their recent social posts, it looks like they already have album number three locked and loaded, meaning we’ll be hearing more Polish Club very, very soon.
