A Massive, Actual, Real-Life Australia-Wide Festival Has Just Been Announced – No, Seriously

It’s been a long time since we’ve gotten to write a sentence like this, so here we go: Factory Summer Festival, a massive, Australia-wide series of gigs has just announced its line-up and dates.

Yep, if you thought that festivals had gone the way of the dodo (at least temporarily) in the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic, then this news will be extremely welcome. Better yet, this announcement comes from an established name: Perth’s Ice Cream Factory Summer Festival, an institution of the West Coast over the last few years, will be expanding across Australia for its 2020/2021 iterations. It’ll now be called the Factory Summer Festival. Nice name, too.

In addition to the Perth instalment of the festival, there will also be gigs in Brisbane and Melbourne. And hoo boy, the line-up is stacked.

Leading the charge is Anna Lunoe, Confidence Man (performing in Brisbane only), Jess Kent, Nina Las Vegas, Peking Duk (Perth and Brisbane only), Ruel and Vera Blue (Brisbane only.) Better yet, we’ve also been promised that more acts will be announced, so stay tuned.

The festival will hit Victoria Parklands in Brisbane and The Ice Cream Factory in Perth over the course of December 11 to December 31, 2020. Then, from March 19 to April 5, Melbournians will be able to get involved in Federation Square.
