The first trailer for upcoming Netflix nature documentary Our Planet has dropped, narrated by everyone’s favourite gentle uncle David Attenborough in a rare non-BBC production appearance.

Big Dave is usually considered synonymous with the British Broadcasting Corporation, but he has worked on productions for UKTV and Channel 4 in the past. This will be Attenborough’s first big streaming platform move.

Does this mean Attenborough is a huge filthy traitor who should be expelled from the UK and have his passport incinerated immediately? Yes. Yes, it does.

The new doco, coming to Netflix on April 5 next year, pretty much does what it says on the tin. Our Planet takes viewers around this big blue world of ours shining a light on some of the most remote and diverse wilderness regions we’ve got left.

Shot across 50 countries over the past four years, Our Planet also carries with it an important message on nature conservation on an increasingly cooked, climate change affected planet.

“Our Planet will take viewers on a spectacular journey of discovery showcasing the beauty and fragility of our natural world,” Davo said at a launch event overnight. “Today we have become the greatest threat to the health of our home but there’s still time for us to address the challenges we’ve created if we act now. We need the world to pay attention.”
