There’s A Perfectly Reasonable Explanation For Danny DeVito’s Unhinged Friday Tweets
On Friday, the actor tweeted a bunch of random statements including "Get ready for some hot sauce" and "raise your hand if you f*cked the devil!"
Bonjour, antichrist! As it turns out, there was a perfectly valid explanation for Danny DeVito’s chaotic tweet storm last week.
Many of us were taken aback on the otherwise sleepy Friday afternoon when the Batman Returns actor fired off several confronting statements on Twitter, including “Get ready for some hot sauce”, “raise your hand if you fucked the devil,” and even, “I’d rather fist a dog than be in a relationship. Piss my pants!”
None of us expected the sudden flurry of tweets from the 77-year-old Matilda star, but we couldn’t help but be supportive: DeVito’s stream of consciousness came at the perfect time here in Australia, offering up the perfect weekend palate cleanser.

But in news that we’re not sure whether or not to be happy about, there was actually a method to the madness: DeVito was live tweeting the premiere of his new animated show Little Demon, where he voices the main character, Satan. However, DeVito forgot to use a hashtag, which means that his tweets landed on the timelines of his four million strong followers with absolutely zero context.
“Everyone on the a [sic] west coast wondering if I’m insane. Watch Little Demon at 10pm tonight on FXX or tomorrow on Hulu. All your questions will be answered,” he tweeted on Friday.

It’s unclear whether or not DeVito’s hashtag omission was deliberate — after all, millions of people now know about the show who wouldn’t have otherwise.
Was it a stunt? Was It a mistake? We may never know. But whether they’re in context or not, many of DeVito’s points continue to stand. Whether it’s “single motherhood is tough ain’t it”, “the future is female,” or “get ready for some hot sauce,” this man knows how to drop a truth bomb.
