If you’re like me, you’re excited today. And that’s because, if you’re like me, you just realised the new season of BoJack Horseman, Netflix’s outstanding animated sad-comedy about a depressed Hollywoo(d) horse, is NEARLY HERE.

Yes, the new season of BoJack drops on Netflix in two weeks, on Friday, 8 September. That is very, very exciting stuff.

Even more exciting? Netflix has teased the new season with a banging trailer, released today, full of intruiging visuals (terrifying dentist clowns??), BoJack Easter eggs (Mr Peanutbutter as The Governator!?), and one very important question: where the heck is BoJack Horseman?

The whole (excellent) trailer is a long voicemail from Diane (Alison Brie) to BoJack (Will Arnett), who was last seen, at the end of season three, driving dangerously fast away from Los Angeles, out into the surrounding desert. There, he caught sight of a bunch of wild horses, running free in the desert.

So, where has he been since then? The trailer is staying pretty quiet on that front, but it does give you hints as to what the rest of the BoJack cast is up to. Like Princess Carolyn, who is going full Peggy Olsen.

And, as was teased last season, Mr Peanutbutter is channelling Arnie and running for Governer of California — in the dopiest, most Mr Peanutbutter-ish way.

And Todd? Well, Todd is just…

Classic Todd!!

The whole thing makes for a pretty compelling taste of what’s to come in September — as was creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg’s epic rant at Video Junkee in July this year. Combined together, all these little hints are exteremely promising.

BoJack, which has gone from strength to strength in each of its impressive three seasons, looks like it’s going to be just as good — if not better!! — in season four. Plus, there’s this:

WTAF IS THIS NIGHTMARE??????

So roll on 8 September, I guess!
