Let’s face it: Marge Simpson’s life is a teensy bit unexciting. Her kids ignore her, her husband neglects her, and her favourite member of the Beatles is Ringo. Sure, she flirted with an affair and has had the odd run-in with the law, but for the most part the Simpson matriarch finds herself relegated to the bench, left to murmur disapprovingly while the rest of her family has all the fun.

One person who has really zeroed-in on Marge’s grim existence is BoJack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg. Something of a master when it comes to the tragic inner lives of lonely cartoon characters, Bob-Waksberg turned to Twitter last month to muse about the blue-haired housewife and her apparent lack of friends. The tweets have garnered more attention recently thanks to Tumblr and…yeah, they’re pretty dark.

If you’ll excuse me, I need to call my Mum.
