Everyone stop what you’re doing: the third season of Ziwe is officially on its way, and we’ve got the trailer to prove it!

Season 3 of the eponymous talk show teases an exciting slate of guests seemingly made for the show, including Drew Barrymore, Julia Fox, Amber Riley, Joel Kim Booster, and Michael Che.

“Diversity training isn’t enough,” Ziwe says in the opening shot of the trailer, as the camera pans out to reveal her gripping a chainsaw. “I want DIVERSITY WAR!”

It’s not clear what Ziwe is suggesting here, but suffice to say we’re very much looking forward to finding out. For those of you who don’t know, Ziwe Fumudoh is young Nigerian-American writer and performer — she her start as a writer on the excellent Desus & Mero, before rising to fame via her Instagram Live series, Baited, in 2020.

In Baited, which took place during the crest of the Black Lives Matter movement, Fumudoh interviewed “cancelled” celebrities like Alison Roman, Caroline Calloway, and Rose McGowan. Putting questions to those celebrities such as “how many Black friends do you have?” (or in the case of Roman, “can you name five Asian people?”) Fumudoh operates firmly in the realm of racial discomfort.

And while critics say that Showtime’s Ziwe lacks the bite of her original series, Fumudoh’s no-holds-barred approach to questioning her guests has clearly remained in tact, with previous episodes seeing her ask Chet Hanks about his Patois fixation, inspire an appropriation apology from Ilana Glazer, and confront Hannibal Burgess about being a landlord.

As for what Season 3 will bring? Only time will tell.
