If you live in Sydney or Melbourne you’ve probably heard about the Night Noodle Markets, but what if you could enjoy street food markets every weekend? Brisbane’s premier foodie night market, Eat Street Markets, offers exactly that. The weekend market opens from 4-10pm every Saturday and Sunday, and is made up of alleys lined with shipping containers, illuminated by enchanting fairy lights. Once you’ve chosen from more than 70 vendors, you’ll get to enjoy your dinner against stunning cityscape backdrop, live music and more.

Pets At The Gabba

One of the newest and quirkiest Brissie markets around, Pets at the Gabba is one for all the furry friends out there. That’s right – it’s a market for pets, and it’s open every Saturday afternoon from 3-9pm. It’s the perfect place for all your animal needs, from dog beds to bird cages, cat food to reptile care. Humans are welcome, too – and there’s plenty of food, face painting, and even a kissing booth, where you can get a big smooch from a cuddly pooch.

Perhaps Brisbane’s most well known weekend market, Brisbane Marketplace opens bright and early, from 6am-12pm on Saturday and Sunday. There’s so much going on that the market completely transforms each weekend: on Saturdays, the focus is on fresh produce and food, with fruit, vegetables, bread, flowers, baked goods, meats, poultry and the like. On Sunday it all transforms into the Discovery Market, focusing on vintage collectables, homewares, books, toys, plants and second-hand goodies.

Mt Gravatt Markets

The Mt Gravatt Showground offers a similar set up: two types of market every weekend. From 4-10pm each Saturday, the much-loved Mt Gravatt Marketta night market serves up street food and live music along with wine, cocktails and more festivities. Just a few hours later it reopens at 6am on Sunday as the Mt Gravatt Farmers Market, specialising in fruit, vegetables, flowers, honey, second-hand trinkets and plenty more, including food stalls and coffee.

The market has a longstanding reputation for its fresh-from-the-farm produce, as well as delicious sausages, fresh seafood, homemade lemonade, pancakes and so much more. Those looking for a new wardrobe won’t be left out, with everything from vintage outfits to fair-trade products on offer.
