Kanye West, Diplo, Louis Theroux And More React To The Death Of XXXTentacion

Twitter has been flooded this morning with reactions to the death of Florida rapper XXXTentacion, who was shot dead this morning in Miami.

The 20-year-old rapper, whose real name is Jahseh Onfroy, was reportedly rushed to hospital after being shot outside a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach north of Miami on Monday afternoon, local time. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, confirmed by the Broward County Sheriff’s Department.

Some members of the music community, including Kanye West, J. Cole, Juicy J and Diplo, have taken to social media to pay respect.

This kid was a genius . true artist. He made his own rules . He has his faults but he was young and he worked so hard on his own self . He wanted to be better. he loves everyone so much . He lived for every kid out here. He had the biggest imagination. He texted me this weekend it was one of his goals to get me & Skrillex to finish his next album. I Invited him to La this week. I was wondering if he was gonna come ? . He used every second of his life to create . He reppped Florida to his core.. I love this kid . He was gonna do so much more he promised me ?

Others readily acknowledge XXXTentacion’s alleged history of homophobia and sexual and domestic abuse, with rapper Kreayshawn saying that “death is not an answer to a cycle [of] homophobia and abuse.”

I was down to see X trialed and serve time. Honestly the jokes about his death are disheartening. I’m an avid fighter against abuse and have done my fair share of defacing of his album advertising in the past but, all in all death is not an answer to a cycle homophobia and abuse.
