While You Were Sleeping, Lena Posed For Playboy
Here are some things that happened overnight. Featuring Lena Dunham's 20 questions, racist Michelle Williams, and sexist Fox News.
Lena Dunham vs Playboy
You can read Dunham’s answers to Playboy’s 20 Questions here, if you like, but the most interesting part is where she tells us what’s in her handbag: “The stray-vitamin situation is pretty out of hand. But most surprising? A spoon. I’m always dragging one around. It’s a metal spoon. A plastic spoon makes sense. A metal spoon from your house makes it look like you’re going to commit a spoon murder.”

Michel Gondry wants you to get your ass out of the house
A great clip of Gondry gettting way too excited about being in his favourite video store, and then getting a little bit embarrassed. He is totally huggable. (Via Nowness)

Kick Ass 2 trailer
The second film about everyone’s favourite costumed high school hero (who swears) is due out in July in the UK, August in the US. In the film, directed by Jeff Wadlow (Cry_Wolf), Kick Ass’ nemesis steps up from Red Mist to The Mother Fucker (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). The trailer looks a little too polished to us, though – and Kick Ass looks maybe a little too buff? (via AV Club)

The imaginary character Michelle Williams was dressed up as doesn’t in any way represent a persecuted minority, okay?
The latest issue of AnOther Magazine features a shoot of Michelle Williams, and one of the photos looks like this:
The “redface” was reported by Jezebel on Tuesday, but AnOther issued a statement overnight in which they “dispute the suggestion that the image has a racist subtext in the strongest possible terms”. The photo, they say, was one of a suite of images “presenting Ms. Williams in a series of eight different imaginary characters”. The Native American Journalists Association have taken issue with the implicit comparison of Native Americans to mythical creatures, which, fair enough: “Anytime a non-native person dresses up as a Native American, this leads to problems”. Duh. (via Popwatch)
Here’s how Fox news celebrated International Women’s Day (spoiler: contains boobs)
Our favourite bit is when the newsreader stumbles over the word “accomplishments”. Fox have apologised to any whiney chicks who were PMSing that month. (via Gawker/The Political Carnival)
