Masterchef Australia 2013 finally picked its winner

MasterChef

After what felt like 8,352 months of dramatic kitchen pressure tests and terrible George Calombaris leather-sleeved fashions, MasterChef finally came to an end last night, with Emma Dean beating out fellow finalists Lynton Tapp and Samira El Khafir.

The gang’s final challenge involved recreating chef Ben Shewry’s (of Melbourne’s Attica) whimsically-named ‘Plight Of The Bees’ dessert, which will no doubt become this year’s ‘Snow Egg’, in the sense that people probs won’t ever shut the f**k up about it.

Emma walks away with $100,000 to “follow [her] food dreams” (eat all the McNuggets!), a book deal, an Alfa Romeo, and prospective work experience in some professional kitchen, where she’ll probably spend all her time getting sworn at and crying.

The trailer for Season Four of Downton Abbey will make you thirsty for tea

The new season of the popular old folks drama doesn’t premiere till January 5, but here’s a quick teaser that’s as refreshing as a cup of warm Earl Grey (or something). Seeing as I’m under 75 years old, I’m completely unfamiliar with the happenings and general allure of this series, so insert your own witty in-joke here.

Diane Keaton has many opinions about good-looking actors

There are many reason why Diane Keaton is one of the world’s most beloved actresses: she’s talented, she’s fun, and every now and then she tends to go adorably nuts in public.

The following Twitter/Pinterest (she uses Pinterest!) session started a few days ago, but continued all weekend. Pull up a chair and a nice beverage…

A driver in Taiwan narrowly avoided getting flattened by a landslide. Look at that boulder topple! Oh my god, peanut butter, I am so lucky to enjoy you right now.
