What Your Chosen Sport Says About Your Personality
Get yo' head in the game.
Ever wonder what your favourite sport really says about you? Or better yet, how to choose the perfect sport for you based on your personality?
Read on for some hilarious but oh-so-real sports stereotypes.
Tennis
Tennis is for those who can’t deal with teamwork, or just other people in general for that matter (have probably never been described as a “people person”). The 90s was their favourite era, and they are pining for the 90s’ sweatband trend to come back in style.
Basketball
Basketballers are secret High School Musical fans, who also have a passion for the performing arts. Yes, they’re usually tall, but – more often than not – basketballers are actually just overly-ambitious short people who lied about their height when getting their license, and think that playing basketball subconsciously makes them appear taller.
Golf
Golf is for those who don’t like to actually ever move, i.e., the good-looking couch potatoes with a suave taste in fashion. They’ve never been sighted running – only walking ever so leisurely, and always wearing flat caps. Any indifference towards golfers is actually fuelled by their unpopular opinion of High School Musical being better when Troy ditches his friends to play golf in HSM2.
Soccer
Soccer players are super organised and disciplined, although they sometimes like to chuck a sneaky tantrum. They often think that the world revolves around them and love being the star of the show. They secretly dislike teamwork and thrive off of competition with their teammates.
Gymnastics
Gymnasts are truly dedicated and hard working individuals. They also have a killer side-eye and expect applauses 24/7. You can easily spot them at uni as the few odd people who do random cartwheels on their way to class. Most gymnasts are also convinced that they’re incredible in bed.
Swimming
Swimmers among us are usually the confident role models we all look up to. They are early birds who love berocca and secretly enjoy wearing frilly shower caps while bathing. They also probably think they’re too hot to handle.
Cycling
Cyclists are driven, goal-orientated people who love to chat and hate to run. They can be a little bit snobby towards non-cyclists (aka “peasants,” from a cyclist’s perspective). They think that they’re epically trendy but friends will tell them that they’re a little annoying. Cyclists also hate birds, but are not afraid of them.
Volleyball
Volleyballers are enthusiastic people and excellent team players that love to have a laugh. They are often seen fist-bumping and high-fiving strangers. These athletes are almost always beautifully tanned and are convinced that they have the best taste in music.
Weightlifting And Bodybuilding
Weightlifters and bodybuilders are some of the most encouraging and motivating people out there. They have a passion for mirrors, and are obsessed with their butts. You can often find a lot of crossfit memes shared on their Facebook profile, and they are some of the few odd humans among us who actually love Mondays (hello, international chest day).
Playing sport is one of the most enjoyable and rewarding aspects of life – embrace the embarrassing stereotypes.
