Watch Jimmy Fallon’s Touching Tribute To Robin Williams On The Tonight Show
What a classy guy.
Tributes have flowed for Robin Williams since his untimely passing on Monday, and it’s become apparent just how many people owe their careers, their childhoods or unique moments in their lives to his comedic genius and genuinely warm nature. Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon is one of the legions of comedians, in particular, for whom Williams was a heroic figure and an inspiration to take the leap into the unpredictable and scary world of comedy.
Last night Fallon paid tribute to Williams, showing footage of the first time he appeared on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson back in 1981.
The fact that Williams was so unapologetically brilliant and hilarious for longer than a lot of us have been alive is mind-boggling, and explains why his death has provoked such an outpouring of grief and nostalgia. Fallon’s one of the biggest people in comedy today, and he owes as much to Williams as anyone does, making his tribute all the more poignant.
