ESPN’s College GameDay is a travelling broadcast previewing college football games before kickoff. The program usually features a celebrity picker, who predicts how the key games of the day will play out.

In the latest edition, broadcast from Clemson University in South Carolina, the celebrity picker was Bill Murray, who — wearing a purple pork pie hat and a Piggly Wiggly T-shirt — tipped the Clemson Tigers to win against the Florida State Seminoles.

Before his prediction, Bill Murray earnestly extolled the virtues of the native American Seminole nation, for whom the Florida State team was named — perhaps as a respectful nod to the controversy that wages in Washington over whether the Redskins should be renamed.

He was interrupted by co-host/minstrel Lee Corso, who arrived on set to parade around dressed as Chief Osceola, the mascot of Florida State. Because apparently that is a thing that’s allowed to happen on national TV.

Bill Murray did what any of us would do when confronted with shameless, exploitative racism the mascot of his opponents’ team.

Body slam.

And here it is in a GIF.
