We could have guessed that Ja’mie King — star of Chris Lilley’s Ja’mie: Private School Girl — would be a massive fan of Katy Perry, and it turns out the love is reciprocated. So 2Day FM’s Kyle and Jackie O put the two together.
Katy Perry recognised Ja’mie’s voice pretty much immediately, and was fluent in the language – “ILYYYY”, she whined, before asking Ja’mie if she thought she was “quiche”, and later insisting she was not a “vagitarian”.
The pair bantered about holidaying in Asia (“My dad’s really rich so he’s paid for a Balinese resort and we’ve got Balinese slaves, like, one per girl…”), fashion (“I love a bandage dress, like a really high bando, because like it’s easy access for guys and stuff. You know what I’m saying”), and how Ja’mie can best get the attention of her new crush, Mitchell: Katy suggested sending him fabulous Snapchats of her fabulous life; “That’s a much better idea, because I was gonna send him a tit photo.”
And after discussing Ja’mie’s Halloween costume – she’s going as Katy Perry from ‘Roar’, and will try and steal a monkey from Bali to complete the outfit (“I’ll just shove it in like a tube thing and bring it back. It’s not a very long flight, it’ll be okay.”) – Ja’mie gifted Katy her the Hillford Girls’ prefect blazer.
And Katy got extremely excited.
But let’s break down the fourth wall for a second. A 38-year-old man just got away with saying to Katy Perry, on national radio, “I can totally imagine you in like a really slutty school uniform, oh my god.”
