‘WandaVision’ Stans Rise, We’re Officially Getting A Kathryn Hahn Agatha Spinoff
It's Kathryn Hahn's world, we're just living in it.
Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness was the breakout star of Marvel’s WandaVision. As soon as the series started, Wanda Maximoff’s friendly but nosy neighbour, Agnes, became everyone’s favourite character. I mean, the biggest meme to come out of WandaVision was Kathryn Hahn Winking, after all.
But the Hahn love doubled when the plot twist of the century dropped in the series seventh episode — the revelation that Agnes was actually Agatha Harkness, a witch who had been causing all the chaos in Wanda and Vision’s lives from the sidelines, all along.
So, it’s really no surprise that Disney is now capitalising on all the Kathryn Hahn love by making an Agatha spinoff for WandaVision fans.
While not much about the spinoff is known yet, Variety reports that WandaVision head writer Jac Schaeffer is returning as writer and executive producer for the “dark comedy” project. But, as with any new projects in the works, Marvel won’t reveal anything else about the upcoming show.
This means all we can really do now is guess what the plot of the new Agatha Harkness spinoff will be as we impatiently wait for more information.
When WandaVision last left off, Wanda had trapped Agatha in Westview, so Marvel could very easily decide to pick the storyline right back up from there. Or perhaps we’ll get an origin story about Agatha surviving the Salem Witch Trials, as we know from Marvel comics.
Either way, I’m excited that Kathryn Hahn is finally getting her moment to shine.
