Marriage? Nah, I'm just trying to feel the rush of walking into a concert again.

For a lot of little kids growing up, the statement “I can’t wait to walk down the aisle” is a common goal to have.

After all, young girls were taught from an early age that finding husband and having kids was the ultimate life goal. Hell, most Disney princess movies were all about a woman’s journey to marriage — even Shrek was all about Shrek and Fiona getting hitched.

However, as we grew up and our eyes opened we realised that walking down the aisle was no longer a must-do activity. Instead, we found different interests and desires, and discovered new aisles to walk down.

And in the current coronavirus climate, people have begun sharing these alternative aisles they’ve found in life. With the “can’t wait to walk down the aisle” meme, people have begun sharing their post-quarantine plans that take the piss out of wanting to get married.

Started by @TebbuttAlina on Twitter with a photo of a plane aisle, Alina kicked off the meme that snowballed into people talking about cinemas, op shops, bottle o’s and even specific places like Disneyland.

But most people shared that there was one type of aisle that mattered most: the ones walking down into concert stages and festival grounds.

Well, that and travel, of course.

Honestly, who needs a wedding when we’ll finally be able hop onto planes and see our fave artists live again? Not me, not I.
