Vanessa Amorosi, Australian Pop Royalty, Is Headlining A Huge Queer Party At Vivid Sydney
Attention: absolutely everybody.
Sydney queer bash Heaps Gay is throwing its annual Qweens Ball this June as part of Vivid, and they’ve just announced a headliner that absolutely everybody can get behind: Vanessa motherfucking Amorosi.
Held at Sydney Town Hall on Saturday June 8, this year’s theme is ‘dark fantasy’ — think Game Of Thrones x Pan’s Labyrinth, but make it gay.
Amorosi is the ball’s special guest, and will perform a mix of classics and material off her upcoming album, of which she recently released a new single, ‘Heavy Leads The Head’. There’s a slew of queer and local talent performing too.
Expect huge sets from club-pop star Kota Banks, bombastic Novacastrian Mimi, and the ever-dramatic duo Collarbones, as well as shows from Sissy Ball star Kilia Tipa and friends, assumedly bringing along some of her sisters from Sydney’s leading House Of Slé.
There’s a heap of art and queer performances to be announced too, and Freudian Nip — the brains behind some of SBS The Feed‘s best sketches — will host the night.
Tickets are on sale now.
