[UPDATED: September 30, 4pm]

As the country reeled from the election night horrors of Saturday September 8, they awoke the next morning to find one positive in an ocean of BAD: the return of Ja’mie King, Chris Lilley’s atrocious creation who we followed from 2005’s We Can Be Heroes to the exchange program that sent her to Summer Heights High in 2007.

After bitching her way through a year in the public school system, the South African-born, North Shore-based King is back to complete her final year at Hilford Girls Grammar School.

She hasn’t changed heaps.

Released over the weekend, the HBO teaser above doesn’t give us a whole lot to go on — but there’s the promise of more to come.

This morning, the media-shy Lilley began retweeting the @JamieSchoolGirl account, to signal the launch of a new campaign.

To unlock the exclusive scene, fans of Ja’ime tweeted with the #privateschoolgirl hashtag. A progress bar tracked the online conversation, and when it hit 100% of the target — at 3.45pm this afternoon — the sneak peak was unlocked. Here it is!

Can’t wait to watch Ja’mie’s final year play out in her natural environment. Having to slum it through year 11 was really tough on her.
