It started with a tweet from UK comedian Charlie Brooker during Scottish tennis star Andy Murray’s straight-sets win over Jo Wilfried Tsonga at the US Open a couple of days ago.

Brooker soon noticed that Murray has a tendency when he’s excited — say, when we wins a vital point in a game of tennis — to scream his delight, which he does by unmooring his lower jaw from the cosmic bonds that restrain it and opening his vast, yawing chasm of a mouth wide enough to swallow all the world.

Twitter being Twitter, people started ‘Shopping Murray’s face onto things that would look amusing with giant mouths on them, and Brooker’s unassuming observation quickly turned into something more. Something wonderful.

Eventually, people just started posting pictures of other things screaming. People. Animals. Buildings. Cups of coffee. Shoes.

I have nothing more of value to add. Mere words are useless here. Simply gaze upon Andy Murray’s omnipotent mouth, and the modern-day masterpieces it has inspired.

Damn it Internet, I love you. I love you so much.
