Tucker Carlson Is About To Make Twitter Even Worse
Good luck to us all.
Weeks after being ousted from his talk show on Fox News, right-wing commentator Tucker Carlson has announced he will be re-launching his program on Twitter.
Yep, following Elon Musk’s restoration of figures previously banned from the platform like Donald Trump and Kanye West, Tucker Carlson (previously suspended for sharing hateful anti-trans posts) has announced he is taking his eponymous talk show directly to Twitter.
Announcing the news with a candid piece-to-camera, Tucker preempted the details of his new show with a lengthy diatribe about the state of modern journalism. “At the most basic level, the news you consume is a lie,” Tucker declares. “A lie of the stealthiest and most insidious kind. Facts have been withheld on purpose along with proportion and perspective, you are being manipulated.”

Oh my god, he admit it! Yes, in a moment of honesty akin to Howard Peale’s plea from the 1976 film Network, Carlson admits that the truth has been a slippery thing throughout his three decades of journalism experience.
“The best you can hope for in the news business at this point is the freedom to tell the fullest truth that you can,” Carlson continues. “But there are always limits, and you know that if you bump up against those limits often enough, you will be fired for it!”. While Carlson appears to be alluding being sacked from Fox, I could have sworn that he was let go due to his documented penchant for misogyny or the expensive defamation case brought on when he suggested the 2020 US election had been rigged.
TikTok misogynist Andrew Tate, meanwhile, has expressed his excitement in the replies. “It’s cracking,” Tate posted, along with images from the 1999 film The Matrix, a movie that the dropshipping hustler and alleged rapist has developed a deepening obsession with (it’s probably the only DVD he’s got access to while on home arrest in Romania for a slew of charges including human trafficking).
This whole Morpheus routine of offering faux-enlightenment with news that’s supposed to give you an unfiltered view of “reality” is older than Rupert Murdoch. Please remember this is all coming from a man whose own lawyers say you can’t believe.
