Trump Accidentally Tweeted The Word ‘Moot’ And Australians Are Losing It
I don't think that word means what you think it means.
Sometimes one little letter makes a world of difference. As was the case overnight when US President Donald Trump accidentally tweeted the word ‘moot’ instead of ‘moat’. But before we get to the moot, let’s talk about the moat, because that’s pretty wild too.
It’s been a pretty rough week for Trump as an impeachment inquiry that could end his presidency begins, and news leaked of a strange request to our own prime minister, Scott Morrison. But perhaps the strangest story of all was Trump’s desire to dig a large moat along the United States’ southern border.
According to a report in the New York Times, Trump toyed with the idea of digging the moat to deter illegal immigration from Mexico. He allegedly wanted to fill the moat with snakes and/or alligators. And while that may sound cartoonishly evil, there’s a much darker side to the story. The president also apparently wanted to electrify the border wall, place flesh-tearing spikes on top of it, and shoot immigrants in the legs.
NYT is reporting that Trump wanted a moat around his border wall filled with snakes and alligators. At one point he suggested shooting migrants in the legs to slow them down. https://t.co/bvlMTs3SAD pic.twitter.com/FViwdduVJH

This wasn’t just a fleeting idea, either. According to the Times report, administration officials actually tried to find out how much these measures would cost. Naturally, the report caused quite a stir in the US yesterday.
The cruelty has always been the point. https://t.co/DUSNwFR6W4

I have to admit that I did not have "build a moat and fill it with snakes" on my Donald Trump Batshittery Bingo card

Trump has since denied any suggestions he wanted to dig an America-sized moat.
Trump says he couldn’t have asked for a moat to be built because he doesn’t even use that word and doesn’t even know what it is. “Whatever that is.” pic.twitter.com/0T93OFZeXX

Then, as is his wont, Trump took to Twitter to once again deny the story. And here’s where the moot comes in. In a now-deleted Tweet, Trump strongly denied any claim that he attempted to build a ‘moot’ along the border.
And as connoisseurs of Australian slang would know, the word ‘moot’ has a slightly different meaning here.
According to Urban Dictionary, moot (noun) is a “Vagina – slang word originating possibly in Australia (it has been used there for at least 20 years or more). Pronounced like the ‘foot’ at the end of your leg.”
in Australia, "moot" is a slang term for vagina https://t.co/gI7jNxSAMz

In Australia, a moot stuffed with alligators is something one might want to avoid https://t.co/zPbUKaT2tK

Anyway, please don’t fill your moot with snakes or alligators.
