Trump Memes ‘Game Of Thrones’ While Insisting “Walls Work”, Has Clearly Never Seen The Show
Spoilers: it doesn't.
Donald Trump has brought back his infamous Game of Thrones meme while demanding Democrats fund his border wall because, quote: “walls work”. Only, as anyone who is up to date with the series knows, that’s not always the case
Trump was brutally roasted by the Game of Thrones cast back in November after he tweeted a picture of himself along with the words “Sanctions Are Coming” to announce he was imposing sanctions on Iran. He was also mocked by fans of the show, who pointed out that the phrase “winter is coming” is used in the series to warn of something terrible on the horizon.
Despite the ridicule, however, Trump decided to resurrect the meme on Wednesday, placing a poster-sized printout of the Thrones-inspired image on the table in front of him during his first cabinet meeting of the year.

Putting aside the fact that this is just a bizarre thing to do in general, somebody in Trump’s team probably needs to catch up with what’s been happening in Westeros recently. Because if you’re trying to convince people that walls do in fact work, you probably shouldn’t throw to a show in which a wall very famously doesn’t.
Trump ran a cabinet meeting today with a poster of himself inspired by "Game of Thrones" on the table. That show, of course, features a giant wall that was knocked down last season. pic.twitter.com/dIxN0mJiSj

Luckily for the President, there were plenty of people on the internet who very helpfully pointed this out to him.

Ok, since we're doing a Game of Thrones thing, someone needs to tell Trump the wall doesn't work. https://t.co/6GFDv1pRfT

Despite the poster’s implication to the contrary, Trump obviously hasn’t finished the last season of Game of Thrones https://t.co/KXUdqbGG9s

Trump dragging a poster-sized printout of the GAME OF THRONES meme into a meeting, like some kind of Big Boy security blanket, is extremely fucking funny.

just a totally normal Cabinet meeting with Trump on a Game of Thrones-style poster, nbd

So Trump says "Walls work" in front of a Game of Thrones- inspired poster that represents himself.
