Briggs Has Given The #TooStrongForYouKaren Video An A.B. Original Remix
It's a simple pleasure, but ridiculing racists is always worth your time.
The repercussions of the #TooStrongForYouKaren video — where a Mildura couple hurl racist abuse at an Aboriginal family and fail to tear down an Indigenous flag — have been swift and just.
Since the video went viral this weekend, both Karen Ridge and Rob Vigors have lost their respective Express Travel and McDonald’s franchise rights, with both parent companies distancing themselves.
The video was recorded by Robby Wirramanda-Knight, who saw Ridge and Vigors trying to tear down the flag on his car parked outside his home in northwest Victoria. The two spew bile about Wirramanda-Knight not being a “true Aboriginal”, noting his light complexion, and when Ridge fails to beat the flag, Wirramanda-Knight yells “it’s too strong for you Karen”.
His child Kira later turned the comment into a hashtag when they uploaded the video to Twitter. Speaking to NITV on Monday, they has expressed the family’s gratitude for the support online.
“I thank everyone for being supportive of my family in this time, it’s sparked a conversation about the systematic racism in this country,” Kira Knight said. “I dream of a future where our youths don’t have to deal with the Karens and McRobs of the world.”
In response to the media attention, Vigors and Ridge allege that the family had stolen and eaten their cat. This supposedly explains their behaviour.

And now, Briggs has weighed in with an “official” remix of the video, pairing Ridge’s pathetic attempt to tear down the flag with the outro of A.B. Original’s ‘January 26’: “wave it/wave it/eat the flag“.
