That Sex Pest Song From ‘Tonightly’ Was Just Nominated For An ARIA
Why did the ABC cancel this show?
One of the late Tonightly’s great strengths was its musical sketches, and it turns out the music establishment agrees. Remember that song about sex pests? It was just nominated for an ARIA.
Sex Pest, Tonightly fans will remember, is an absolute banger with a strong message: don’t be a sex pest. It stars Bridie Connell singing, dancing, rapping, and dispensing pearls of wisdom like “boys: don’t hang out if you’ve got your wang out…unless of course, it is consensual”.
It also features “a consensual schlong song sing-along”, which I think we can all agree is the line that really elevated lyric-writing to new levels in 2018.

Sex Pest has been nominated for an ARIA in the category of Best Comedy Release. It’s up against Aunty Donna’s latest album, Akmal Saleh’s Transparent, Lawrence Mooney’s Moonman, and Luke Heggie’s Tiprat.
You can listen to Sex Pest below as you sadly wonder, once again, why the ABC cancelled Tonightly. I mean, it was just nominated for an ARIA.
