Tom Cruise Is Shooting A Movie In Space, And So Everyone Is Making The Same Joke
"In a way I respect that Tom Cruise wants to die on camera."
Tom Cruise is one of cinema’s most dynamic and charismatic action heroes. He also has something of a death wish.
After all, just look at the recent Mission: Impossible movies. That franchise — one of the greatest achievements of human civilisation, please don’t @ me — features some of the most death-defying stunts ever put to film.
Remember when Cruise climbed the outside of the tallest building in the world, for real? Or what about when he piloted a helicopter? Or hung on to the outside of a plane as it took off? Or HALO-jumped out of a military aircraft?
Yep, Cruise has spent the last decade or so constantly trying to one-up himself in terms of sheer spectacle. But now he’s going for the crowning achievement. Tom Cruise is going to star in a movie shot in space. For real.
To help him in that goal, Cruise has recruited Elon Musk, world’s worst man, and NASA. Together, they’ll all shoot the film on the International Space Station. As to what the film will actually be about, or who is directing it, that all remains to be seen.
To be honest, given the coronavirus pandemic, the ISS is probably safer to shoot on that some parts of Earth. But still, despite that, all of Twitter is lighting up with the same joke about Cruise and his wild plans: namely, that he’s absolutely testing his luck on this whole ‘defying death’ thing.

If Tom Cruise dies peacefully and painlessly surrounded by friends and family his last words will be “not like this”

Tom Cruise’s movies absolutely rule in every respect because this man truly does not care if he lives or dies https://t.co/Xy6syb0ZnD

Let’s hope that we get Tom Cruise’s space movie sooner rather than later. It would, after all, be a nice way to forget about our own looming mortal threat.
