A 20 year old man from the Blue Mountains has gone viral on TikTok after crashing a private media event hosted by Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

Adisen Wright filmed himself talking to Scott Morrison at Sydney’s Nepean Rowing Club, where he asked to take a photo with the PM and questioned his response to the bushfires. But when Scott Morrison realised he was being filmed, he informed Wright that it was a private event for the media. Wright — who later claimed to be unaware that it was a private event — then yelled at Morrison, who was, at this point, already walking away.

“ScoMo, across the river here people lost their houses and they were burnt,” shouted Wright. “You’re a disgrace!”

The footage then shows Wright leaving the premises before being approached by a police officer.

“I didn’t know it was a private event. I genuinely didn’t,” Wright told the officer, while still filming the TikTok. “I apologise for that. But I just wanted to ask a question because I care about government and our area was incredibly impacted.

“We just want some action. We’re not asking for a lot. We just want some assistance.”

Wright claims he “didn’t do anything wrong”, despite appearing to crash a private and causing a scene. In his now-viral TikTok, Wright claimed he was “detained” by police for trying to ask the Prime Minister a question, however, NSW Police have asserted that he was simply issued with a move-on direction and left the venue without incident.

In a statement provided to AAP, a Labor spokesperson condemned the behaviour. “There’s plenty of opportunity for respectful democratic participation without heckling and abuse,” the spokesman said.
