I Love The Incredibly Cursed TikTok Compilations On YouTube

These days, it’s hard for a busy woman to just sit down and watch a couple of hilarious TikToks — between your fast paced career, dropping your elderly husband’s adult children off at little league, and a robust schedule of brunches with powerful socialites, who has the time? That’s why I love TikTok compilations.

TikTok is great, but scrolling through it can be a lot of effort. For one thing, I have the world’s tiniest thumb. Another thing is that while the TikTok algorithm is suspiciously powerful and targeted, I spend a lot of time writing about TikTok trends, which tends to skew the algorithm in unfortunate ways. Let’s just say that when you’re researching “Frog TikTok”, TikTok decides you really love frogs, and sends you as much frog as possible.

I love frogs, but I’d love to see that cardboard cutout of Lorde again, it makes me laugh.

One of my favourite things in the world is when people do the work for me, which is why I enjoy when people curate all the best TikToks they’ve seen on other social media, like Twitter.

But, also, people on Twitter are still very mad at me that I wrote an article about how Ant-Man was either good or bad, and I try not to spend too much time on it.

So, that’s why I’m excited that people have started curating GOOD YouTube compilations of TikToks. For a while, every compilation was very scary and offputting, and probably put together by bots.

But now there are some good TikTok compilations — and the way you can tell? Well, that’s by how cursed the title is, and how much of a huge 2020 vibe it manifests.

I love this category, because it just makes you think about how far we’ve come, and also how stupid everyone in the Victorians were. There’s a video where a lad sends a cigarette lighter to his lad friends on a drone, but some of them aren’t as thematically linked.

This is one of my favourite series, because it is chaos, and because there are many of them. I think there are ads embedded in the video itself, but tbh, they just kinda fit in with the mood.
