It’s Official: We’re Getting A Bonus Episode Of Netflix’s Tiger King
Netflix has just announced a special bonus episode of the viral doco series.
If, like the rest of the world, you’ve spent a good chunk of your social isolation time on the couch mesmerised by Netflix’s incredibly, bizarrely, painfully watchable documentary series Tiger King, we have good news for you: We’re getting one final episode.
Called The Tiger King And I, the ‘after-show’ will be hosted by Joel McHale, who announced the new episode on Netflix’s social channels this morning. The bonus episode will apparently focus on some of the main players in the show, including Jeff and Lauren Lowe, Saff, Erik Cowie, John Finlay, John Reinke, and Rick Kirkham.
“It’s eye-opening and hopefully funny,” McHale said in in the video while wearing a cowboy hat, tiger print blanket that he seems to have taken off his own couch, while sporting a ‘Netflix’ tattoo on his abdomen.

Notably, Carole Baskin and her husband don’t appear to be involved with the project, which isn’t surprising given their very public disappointment in the way they were portrayed in the seven-part series.
If, somehow, you haven’t seen Tiger King, you’re really missing out. As Junkee’s Jared Richards notes in this piece, it’s the story of a polyamorous, gay, meth-using, mulleted, redneck and exotic zoo owner who ran for US President against Trump and released several country albums, who hires a hitman to kill his animal conservationist arch-nemesis. Oh, and his name is Joe Exotic.
It’s truly a wild ride. Go and watch Tiger King now, then strap yourself in for the bonus episode, which will drop on Netflix some time on Sunday.
