Just a heads up for those who haven’t seen The Force Awakens yet, for some wildly stupid reason: there are actually spoilers in these drawings.

It’s over a year until the next Star Wars film comes out, and about half of the planet is trying to figure out how to make the waiting period slightly less unbearable. Fortunately, it’s the most popular movie franchise ever and quite literally everywhere all the time, so it hasn’t been hard so far.

Exhibit A: Disney and Marvel artist Brian Kesinger has made some Star Wars: The Force Awakens drawings in the style of veteran comic Calvin and Hobbes, and I am eternally grateful. They are the cutest pieces of art in the world right now.

The very, very good idea came to Kesinger, who’s a big fan of Bill Watterson’s creations, when he was watching the film, probably over and over again. “It struck me that she probably did that as a child and that’s when the Calvin and Hobbes image flashed in my head,” Kesinger told Buzzfeed. “Bill Watterson has been one of my biggest artistic influences so it was a fun opportunity to combine two of my favorite things.”
