This ‘Black Mirror’ Pokémon Go Mashup Reveals That Our Dystopian Future Has Arrived
All hail our new overlords!
For a few days now, the Pokémon Go app has been delighting countless Australians and annoying those who like to shit on things that make lots of people very happy. But is this wave of people moving through public space, eyes glued to the screens held out in front of them and jones-ing for that Charmander that is just out of reach, the start of something very, very bad?
Today the creator of dystopian sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror, Charlie Brooker, shared a video of a scene from season two, with one very eerie addition.
Maybe this signals humanity’s demise? The fact that you can now catch Pokémon in Auschwitz doesn’t really bode well.
A lot of people making eye contact. Are the #pokemonGO servers down again?
