You know what’s even better than enjoying a delicious burger and some chips (with chicken salt) from the comfort of your own home? Enjoying a delicious burger and some chips (with chicken salt) while knocking back a couple of cold ones.

From tomorrow it’s going to be even easier to enjoy the perfect meal with a thirst quenching accompaniment thanks to UberEATS.

Customers will be able to order a six-pack of beer or a bottle of wine from their favourite restaurants through the company’s new alcohol delivery service.

The good news is that it launches tomorrow, just in time for round one of the AFL. To mark the occasion UberEATS has teamed up with Carlton Draught to sling you some freshly brewed beers.

Mmmmm. Delicious footballs.

The less good news is that it’s only available in Melbourne, for now.

The Melbourne-only rollout is probably to do with the fact the city has more flexible laws around alcohol licensing than most others. It’s worth remembering that when UberEATS first launched in Australia it was only in Melbourne as well, but it soon expanded to other cities.

An Uber spokesperson told Junkee that “While there are no immediate plans for a broader roll out, we look forward to hearing feedback from our customers on this new UberEATS experience to be able to bring it more people as quickly as possible.”

So stay tuned!
