Had legendary pop artist Andy Warhol not passed away so suddenly at the tender age of 58 way back in 1987, he’d be celebrating his 85th year of awesome floppy hair inspiration today (well, America’s today). To celebrate the occasion, The Warhol Museum in Andy’s hometown of Pittsburgh have decided to bring the party to him, in a format that Warhol himself would surely approve of: a live video stream direct from his grave site.

PARTY!!!!!!!

As the website states, the project — a collaboration with EarthCam, who will be transmitting the live feed 24/7 for an indefinite period of time —  is called ‘Figment’ and based on the following quote from Warhol:

“I never understood why when you died, you didn’t just vanish, and everything could just keep going on the way it was only you just wouldn’t be there. I always thought I’d like my own tombstone to be blank. No epitaph and no name. Well, actually, I’d like it to say ‘figment.'”

Seeing as it’s about 12:24am in Pittsburgh right now, there’s not really much happening at the grave site at the moment, besides the eerie wave of some balloons brought there by well-wishing fans. But you should click on the above pic and head to the live feed, anyway: perhaps if you stare at it long enough, you’ll eventually see a hand pop out, furiously clutching a Campbell’s soup can.
