The New ‘Meow The Jewels’ Video Is A Terrifying Glimpse Into The Inevitable Feline Uprising

When Killer Mike and El-P first announced the idea of a cat-themed remix of their second Run The Jewels album, it was all a bit of a joke. Meow The Jewels was a silly little project for a bunch of like-minded producers to mess around with in their spare time. Any proceeds were going to charity. Everyone had a lot of fun with the full album when it was released a little over a month ago.

But now the corresponding music videos to the tracks are telling a slightly more sinister story. A few weeks ago, the first — a Just Blaze remix of ‘Oh Darling’ — featured two gargantuan house-cats wreaking polite havoc on a tiny cardboard version of New York City:

This morning, the second clip — the Nick Hook remix of ‘All My Life’ retitled ‘All Meow Life’ — is composed of a surreal, panic-inducing avalanche of cat videos which have plucked from the darkest recesses of the internet and seamlessly stitched together by someone who presumably had a cat pointing a gun at their head:

This album is the battlecry of the impending internet cat apocalypse. This is how it all ends. And frankly, it’s what we deserve.
