The New ‘Grootify’ Extension Lets You Change The Text On Any Webpage To ‘I Am Groot’ Over And Over
Good work, Internet.
One of Guardians of the Galaxy‘s best characters is Groot, a living tree-thing who’s voiced by Vin Diesel, and who says nothing but “I am Groot” in various inflections. If you haven’t seen GotG yet, go see it for Groot.

Because the Internet is a magical garden of happiness sometimes, some excellent people over at Us vs Th3m have made a Chrome extension that you can slot into your toolbar that changes all the words in your browser to various iterations of “I am Groot”. It is wonderful.
Playing with this thing for five seconds is enough to prove its worth — for example, it makes Junkee articles noticeably more Groot-heavy, which would do wonders for filing copy quickly if nothing else.
It also makes Andrew Bolt’s blog on the Herald Sun far more readable. No hateful sentiments. No racism or sexism. No insufferable snobbery. Just Groot asking himself if he is Groot before reassuring himself that he is, after all, Groot.
Sometimes it works best when there aren’t many words on the webpage at all. Here’s Prime Minister Tony AbGroot, on the Grooteral Partgroot’s webgroot.
Twitter is trending the hell out of Groot and Groot-related topics like “I am Groot?” and “I…am Groot”.
Alright, you get the idea. You can download it here. And remember, if you’re ever wondering whether you are Groot, you’re not. I am Groot.
