Start Freaking Out, Because The First Trailer For ‘The Lion King’ Remake Is Here
And it looks BEAUTIFUL.
Disney’s remake of the 1994 iconic film The Lion King just got its very first teaser trailer, which dropped during the NFL’s Thanksgiving primetime game. And friends, we cannot be more excited.
In the teaser, we get to see the absolutely legendary opening scene recreated, and if it doesn’t warm up the cold icicle that has replaced your heart, then you are a rare type of monster.
We’ve got James Earl Jones’ narration as Mufasa over the top of it, while plays while the song “Circle of Life” plays in the background. We can see elephants, the monkey guy, various deer. We can even see a Wildebeest or two, who I don’t think I’ve ever properly forgiven for their part in the whole thing.
Honestly, this film makes me extremely nostalgic towards the concept of monarchy and also towards the deliciousness of various bugs, both of which are odd concepts. Oh, I just cannot wait.
The Lion King remake is led by Iron Man director Jon Favreau and has been done in a kind of photorealistic, computer-animated style. It also features a huge and ridiculously talented cast that is also predominantly black, including Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé as Nala, and James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa.

Hans Zimmer is also returning to score the film, while Elton John while reworking some of his original compositions.
As a wise man once sung:
“From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There’s more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done
There’s far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found.”
