The Flaming Lips Played Pictionary On Jimmy Fallon Last Night. Oh, And Wayne Coyne Was Naked.

The Flaming Lips, Oklahoma’s nuttiest indie rockers, were on Jimmy Fallon’s show last night. True to their usual weirdness, the band performed a new song from their album Terror, as well as a great cover of David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’. Frontman Wayne Coyne wore nothing except some dangly light tentacles, like some kinda flowing Botticelli girl.

The best part, though, was when he reappeared later in the show for a game of Pictionary with Julie Bowen (ie: the mum from Modern Family) and Demi Lovato (ie: the former Disney star). Did you, like us, also just imagine how insane Modern Family would be with Wayne Coyne as Phil Dunphy?

The BEST, best part though, was when the camera turned around to the audience mid-segment, and Keith Richards was silently siting there right in the middle of the scene, and no one even mentioned it (he’s the guy with the ‘play’ button on his chest; sorry, we had to pause this to get a screengrab).

Jesus Christ, what a weird episode. This is what old people must mean when they talk about “bad trips”.
