The cheesy, cheery family sitcom has kind of fallen by the wayside now that not-terrible television is being made, but Funny or Die are bringing the format back in a brand-new show exploring a typical, all-American Muslim family. Halal in the Family features an all-star cast of brown people who could be taken to be Muslim, including Daily Show correspondent Aasif Mandvi and Sakina Jaffrey, who you might recognise as Linda Vasquez from House of Cards season one, doing typical American Muslim things like eating pork chops with bacon sauce, ironing their American flag underwear and being spied on by paranoid neighbours on the phone to National Security.
