Fans Share What They Think The “Last Great American Dynasty” Is With This Taylor Swift Meme
"And they said, there goes the last great American dynasty"
Taylor Swift’s new album folklore has produced many memes already, and the latest sees people sharing their own idea of what “the last great american dynasty” is.
Taylor Swift’s surprise album folklore has been receiving rave reviews, including her song ‘the last great american dynasty’. The song is apparently inspired by socialite and philanthropist Rebekah Harkness, who was married to the heir of an oil fortune, and who owned Swift’s Rhode Island mansion in the 1940s and ’50s.
Taylor Swift’s The Last Great American Dynasty is so tightly & brilliantly written, like a Raymond Carver story, that I wanted to know more about its subject. Which has led me to one of the best reviews I’ve ever read, on a 1988 biography of a wild life https://t.co/A7yJRArMNo pic.twitter.com/QUaBfGComr

In the song, Taylor sings the lyrics “And they said/there goes the last great American dynasty/who knows, if she never showed up, what could have been”. Fans have decided to take these lyrics and the concept to share funny ideas about who they think the true ‘last great american dynasty’ actually is.

Whoever you think the real dynasty is, the song is an impressive feat. The National’s Aaron Dessner, who produced some of the album with Taylor, told Vulture that Taylor wrote the lyrics extremely quickly.
aaron dessner told vulture that he sent taylor the melody for the last great american dynasty and went out for a run and she sent him the finished song before he got back so in conclusion she is literally satan
