Earlier this week, an incredible photo of AFLW star Tayla Harris was targeted by sexist mouthbreathers on social media. The footballing community, to its credit, rallied around the Carlton forward, who went on to deliver an incredible response on Melbourne radio, calling the comments what they were: sexual abuse.

In a Twitter post on Thursday, Harris sent out a massive thank you to her supporters, along with another message to her abusers. “Things have changed,” she wrote. “If you’re not with us, you will be left behind.”

On Friday, she threw down the gauntlet again, challenging her followers to take part in the #TaylaKickChallenge by posting a photo or video of themselves recreating her famous kicking style.

She’s even got a pair of signed Nike football boots to give away to the best entry — although it’s going to be hard to pick just one, because boy oh boy did people answer the call.

Admittedly, some attempts were better than others.

I also reckon a couple of people might have cheated.

If you’re keen to take part, make sure to use the hashtag #TaylaKickChallenge. Just make sure you stretch a little first. It’s hard to own misogynist dickheads when you’ve torn your hamstring.
