Empire star Taraji P. Henson as an unstoppable, streetwise hitwoman? I think Proud Mary just became my favourite movie of all time, and it hasn’t even been released yet.
A lot of people are saying this movie looks like the modern-day equivalent of iconic blaxploitation flicks such as Coffy and Foxy Brown. It’s kind of an obvious comparison, but hey, if the knee-high leather stiletto-heeled boot fits.
Along with Henson, the film stars Billy Brown, Jahi Di’Allo Winston and Danny Glover. If the trailer wasn’t enough, Sony Pictures have also released this absolutely stunning teaser poster.
