A Massive Sydney Storm Is Dropping Some Truly Giant Hail Right Now
Guess we are getting a white Christmas after all?
It’s well and truly storming in Sydney right now, and if you parked your car outside today sorry dude, because the hail is massive.
Seriously — the Bureau of Meteorology released a severe thunderstorm warning for several parts of the city, warning that both “large hail” AND “giant hail” would be on the way.
⚠️ #Hail reports coming in over Sydney. Largest about 5cm in diameter at Berowra. Stay safe. Check the latest #warnings for Sydney https://t.co/aphYZ7dTL4 and follow the advice of the emergency services. pic.twitter.com/VJQIYMRWhe

And if you’re wondering what the difference between “large” and “giant” hail is, here you go: as of 5.30pm today, the Bureau of Meteorology was reporting that 2cm hail was reported around Petersham, while meanwhile 5cm hail was recorded at Berowra.
Here’s an idea of what that fuck-off massive hail looks like. Remember that these chunks of ice are just dropping out of the sky.

So if you’re in Sydney at the moment, it’s probably not a great idea to go outside. Even if it looks sunny and fine to you right now, things could change very quickly — head over to the Bureau of Meteorology website to check the warnings for your area, and stay safe!
