Stop What You’re Doing. Ellen Lip-Synched ‘BBHMM’ And Fallon Dropped His Sixth ‘History Of Rap’
Very important news about dorky white people, thanks.
Sometimes it can be frustrating that The Tonight Show’s basically been transformed into a karaoke lounge for Jimmy Fallon’s famous friends. With each viral clip getting overhyped and some performances seriously disappointing, you might curse his excitable puppy dog face for constantly clogging up your newsfeed. But not today. Today that ridiculous little face has delivered.
After years of continuing the strange and delightful tradition, giant dorks Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake just performed their sixth ‘History of Rap’ to open the latest episode of The Tonight Show in the US. It featured Public Enemy, MC Hammer, Wu-Tang Clan, Nelly, R.Kelly, Kendrick Lamar and a timely shoutout to NWA amongst others. Also, it was very very good.
With more clips now going online, we can confirm that at least 16 minutes of the episode was in fact devoted to celebrities singing. After a stressful week on her own show — which included conducting the first televised interview with Caitlyn Jenner since Diane Sawyer in April, and confronting her on some surprising views on same-sex marriage — Ellen also dropped by for some lip-synching.
While Fallon put up a good fight with Silento’s ‘Watch Me’, he never stood a chance with Ellen dropping Rihanna’s epic ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’.
If you hadn’t picked up on it already, yes everyone is very white.
